Bits of info:
* "It's not the eight wonder, but what you see in the trailer.. it's the game."
* R. Kelly - Bump And Grind it's on the R&B station.
* They mention some bugs in the aiming system. For example, the Niko was uncapable of finding some near targers with the rifle, going straight to some other far ahead.
* They played on the arcades at Homebrew cafe, a 3d tetris.
* The Cellphone has, by this order, Contacts, Messages, Reminders(?), Music, Photos and Multiplayer.
* Niko had 20 contacts on his cellphone, they're able to see 9 of them.
* Do you know when you hit a fire hydrant on San Andreas and all the water comes out? Well they were driving a Mr. Whoopee and went right into one, so they decided to try it, Niko went flying and felled nearby.
* When you're about to die, the screens fills up with blood splatter and it turns to black and white.
* With the SMS system you can keep your relationships with your buddies, keep up date about the missions and if you fail a mission just send a "retry" SMS and you're good to go again.
* They were able to play four missions: 'To Live And Die in Alderney'(second part of 'Truck Hustle'), 'Jamaican Heat', 'Jacob's Ladoe' and 'Harbouring A Grudge'.
Unique moment:
(They had a few but I think this one is worth reading, in case someone needs/want to rest to post on a website let me know)
We're standing near the docks in Algonquin, anxious to test the hand-to-hand combat, and we spot
a bad looking biker. Obviously with went to the guy( you can walk among the crowd like in
Assassin's Creed) and he backed off a little. We trough some punches at each other, he backs off
again and takes out a knife, then like 10 greasemonkey bikers surround us. Brave like a lion we
run the hell of out there, we got in to a tunnel and we found a officer on the other end.
"Looks like good news" says the R* guy with them- and he's right.
The officer takes his gun and aims it at the biker, because what he sees is a guy with a knife
chasing a innocent. With out a warning, bang, the biker drops dead. "I wasn't expecting that"
says the R* member surprised. They continued running while the people around were gathering
at the scene.
Missions:
'To Live And Die in Alderney'
In this mission you are involved with the mafia, Ray and Phil Bell. Niko asks Phil to help him find
"the special someone", which Phil agrees, but, Niko has to transfer some drugs from the last mission first.
We take Phil to a mansion- Salvatore Leone kind of house- surrounded by fields. The drugs are placed
in two mobster cars, on the way out, the police arrives at the scene. Now he have to escape to a safe
location, and, avoid that our friend in the second car get arrested. A huge pursuit explodes with the LCPD
using blockades and other pursuit techniques along the way. When we arrive at the scene we need to put the
drugs in some bags- some memories from Heat came to mind. When we were getting prepared to get out with
a van, a police helicopter appears- but it's quickly taken down with a RPG hit, a quick dive into the water on way
to safety and the mission is complete.
'Jamaican Heat'
On this mission you meet Little Jacob, the weapons dealer addicted to weed - and it serves the propose of
testing the new cover and shooting system. We need to cover him from a roof near the place, jacob his doing
a "transaction" while we stay low. Obviously the deal goes wrong, we grab one of the gangsters with the
L2 button, splinter cell style, and we take him down punching him with the weapon instead of firing it.
Another gangster appears from a door on our left and we decided to test the auto aim, after that we took
Jacob to a safe place ad the mission is complete.
'Jacob's Ladoe'
Niko knocks on Jacob's door and finds him whispering stuff, he's stoned.
While we drive, Jacob briefs us on the next mission, quite a usual technique on the new missions. We leave
Jacob and we're told do wait for him on the street. It goes wrong, again. We need to take a few more
gangsters down, we run some over with Jacob's car and proceed to the gansgta HQ. It's a tutorial on the cover
system, we press the cover key and Niko finds the closest object and goes there, if we keep pressing it, Niko will
change from object to object, we can even run, using the X button and using R1 to slow Niko down and find some cover.
We stay near the door and walk to the window, Niko goes down and hides beneath it, using R2 without lock-on, we blind-fire the hell of the house and take one down. Niko enters the house and start killing the survivors, we end covering behind the couch, we use the shotgun and finish the last guy. One of the walls took some much hits it ended collapsing. We shoot some more bullets on the guy and took the medic kit on the table, with the house "clean" we drop Jacob at the Homebrew cafe.
'Harbouring A Grudge'
In this mission we meet Packie on his house, along with a interesting talk with his grandfather(?) and his sister, which gave Niko a suspicious/romantic kinda look. Packie briefs us on the mission(they failed three times and every time Packie told a different version) and Niko has to call a cab, when they arrived at the harbor they pay the guy $39(the double if you want to skip the trip) and proceed into some warehouse, that's locked. They climb into the roof while they watch a gangster loading illegal products(like Prozac), (guess what... yes you need to steal them). After a short cut scene we're free to proceed as we like. Fortunately our R* guy gave us loads of guns, so we use a rifle to cut to the chase. A big shoot out begins and after the way is clear Packie arrives and we took all the drugs into a Binco van.
(They failed the mission, but if you succeed, taking the van into a safe place, you will meet Ray)
