Move over Hollywood blockbuster, because Grand Theft Auto IV is coming to town with a rumored 100 hours of gameplay and a confirmed eight hours of cutscenes at the very least.
The cutscene length was actually confirmed via a ratings board certification process in the U.K., where the BBFC revealed that it reviewed 07:43:00:00 hours of movie like game footage and 05:20:00:00 hours of actual game play footage. The board ultimately gave the game an "18" rating for "strong violence, very strong language, sex and drug references."
At IGN's Planet Grand Theft Auto it was noted that the five hours and twenty minutes of gameplay is in no way representative of the total gameplay time, but the eight hours of cutscenes were probably every conceievable scenario and situation your character will encounter in the game.
